INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY

One-on-One Online tutoring service for K9-12 students is a method of education in which the student is physically separated from the teacher and the institution sponsoring the instruction. The instructional technology used for One-on-One Online Tutoring can be made use of by a wide range of technologies and media. These technologies can be categorized by delivery media or interaction tools. Most e-Learning providers select technologies from a variety of vendors and many others select an all inclusive course delivery or management system that may include many of these technologies. Some providers blend online with traditional offline technologies. We have developed our own application that blends both the synchronous and asynchronous methods of instructional technology.

Synchronous instructional technolgy is one of the most appealing studying methods. Students and their instructors meet online at designated times. Each person is able to speak to all of the others as well as draw or write on the shared interactive whiteboard. Students "raise their hands" when they wish to "speak". The instructor then opens the microphones to allow them to speak, draw, or text chat with the class. Sessions are recorded and can be viewed later. Instructor use the capabilities of this synchronous software in various ways to accommodate their teaching styles and students' learning styles.

Asynchronous instructional technology is excellent for many things like peer response and to share writing. "Asynchronous" means things don't happen at the same time. A verbal discussion happens "synchronously" and so does a real-time chat; However, asynchronous discussion does not happen at the same moment but at different moments and over extended time. Email is asynchronous communication. We at AspiringKidz.com focus on asynchronous technology for a class discussion, homework and assignment upload, etc.

Benefits of One-on-One Online classes include
  • increased motivation
  • significant student success
  • regular student–teacher interaction
  • audio communication and chat
  • virtual whiteboard instruction
  • real-time feedback
  • development of a sense of community among students
  • improved course completions
One-on-One Online Tutoring is focused more on the student. More information (in the form of questions or comments) often flows from the student to the instructor. As a result of learners constructing their own learning, they are considered to be more active. This type of active learning forces instructors to be "guides on the side" of the learner. Online learners have more responsibility for their learning, and instructors spend much more time providing resources than delivering content.
